I feel a bit bad for the demon thing. It was just chilling there, doing absolutely nothing. It didn't even seem all that upset about being stuck there, and was perfectly content to let everyone else do their own thing until they attacked it first.

Something feels off, like they are still trapped in an illusionary world. Then again this does still follow the same pattern as other similar events Univas is involved in so who knows...
Yeah, I was expecting the twin Destra to make an appearance. It's all just too clean and simple, but as you said, simple is the pattern.

this "liar" thing sounds like that its gonna be a very annoying plot point later on.
More like a consistently annoying plot point, since the reputation that was spread of Univas was "incompetent". In the minds of everyone who don't know any better, anything he claims is a lie.

I don't think so, seeing we get to see rude dude got GROUNDED.
But it might have side/hidden effect for later comedic purpose.

I do think that arrogant spirit tamer should be punished more severely.

How about sending him down against that demon?

This series seems to go out of its way for characters who actively do abhorrent shit in front of / to a lot of witnesses to face zero consequences for their actions.

Like this spirit tamer guy just tried to kill dozens of schoolgirls while calling them trash, and it's just kind of brushed off by them; and he doesn't seem at all concerned they might report him.

And before that they were all calling him a great tamer, despite him publicly losing all his spirits and having them beat the shit out of him.

Congratulations, you figured out what the next plot is going to be. But it is not going to be as simple as this one.

I know the poor writing in this series should've been enough to tell me how this would work out, but I admit I still feel really disappointed. What was the point of telling us this demon specializes in mental manipulation and illusions when it functionally just ended up some big monster that barely even moved before getting a hole through its chest?

The "illusion of lies" it fired off was so limp too. Built up as something that would be so heinous that it'd cause everyone to kill each other until only one remained, and all it did was make Univas say "I like gals and hate spirits"? Even if it was meant as a gag, I think it would've worked a lot better if that lie made Tifon and Izumi want to kill the gals out of jealousy or something. As is, it just makes them sad and the whole thing falls flat both as a joke and as an attempt at serious drama.

This whole series' writing has been so bad that I keep waiting for the revelation that all the events so far had been an illusion.

Ngl it'd be based if author spent the entire 1st volume with shit story just to say syke and start the real story from 2nd volume onwards.

I'm sorry, but... DARKNESS SPIRIT!?

Out of all spirit, I didn't think darkness would be one of it lmao.
Like, yeah, we had that diagram of elements, but I didn't think Darkness would also be a spirit. What kind of power it has besides empowering demons, bruh .

Also, why the mangaka has to tie the demon like this, especially the leg position, bruh. I thought the demon would transform into human and we'll be flashed with ecchi scene.
