And our protagonist is too dumb, naive, and boring to question anything. Is AI telling the author what to write? Maybe I would have looked at this differently 10 years ago, but writing about a 'benevolent' AI taking control of people's lives in today's landscape makes me feel a little sick.

From the dialogue above it seems like readrs thinks that is how MC would mutate if he realized his power, I take it as is described, a possible simulation, he could become that but only if a set of coniditions presented to him, given the demonic atmosphere I'm gonna guess is understanding the power he wields + being isolated by humanity, with hostility, is likely that Kuro used information from other people that levelled too much and broke.

What seems to be implied is that once he becomes aware of his strength he will undergo existence evolution. And how he evolves seems to depend on a lot of factors with the demon being the one where he loses faith in humanity. So until we learn more that is a very real possible branch of existence Evolution he could undergo.

But she doesn't make a real appearance until Chapter 43. And her deal isn't really explained until Chapter 47. But she appears to be a Manifestation of Yuto that is made real. Which has Yuri Consequences.

Not really? It's a matter of choices and paths. Easiest metaphor I can can think of is, he's an Elder Ring/Dark Souls character, that has like 1 Billion Souls stocked up, but hasn't leveled up into Nightmare builds. He has all this power/XP in him all along, but until he makes a decision, he's just living life as a guy. If he decides everything sucks and humanity is shitty, he can choose to become The Demon Lord^TM. But it's still a choice.

The Problem is if he's immature emotionally (like a standard hormonal teen), he can make a spontaneous bad choice that he can't take back, then RIP humanity. So you hide those choices as long as you can until he happily grows up.
