I'd like to imagine androids being common in future society.
Wait... isn't Android already a common thing right now...
With Android Phones 🤡

Personally though, I am all for android rights as soon as they become sentient, and think they should be treated same as humans.
I do not agree, the day we start treating Androids as "Equal" is the day we would've replaced humans altogether and leave the concept of two humans connecting with each other behind. No one would ever want to connect with others when they could just make their own dream person and spend their entire life with them, It would be a life lead by fake intimacy and lonliness, I do not want to see androids with actual emotions, It sounds extremely dystopic.

That's assuming we would be left with enough resources to even build a handful.
No water, no silicon, no titanium, no silver, no copper. Are we supposed to build them with driftwood?

@Robinisback assuming androids become sentient, what of their feelings? What about feelings of desperate people whose only option is to live with android caregivers, or potential partners. Can you really just ignore all that and pretend like androids are just lifeless dolls?

How do you think this will end, when you treat androids as dirt, and ignore feelings of those who care for them?
You won't be able to convince those people, or androids.

Chances are, it will just lead to civil war, no matter what. Are you fine with that?

Oh great, a civil war over android rights. Just what humanity needs! another war, but this time, it’s against our own toasters with daddy issues.

Look, if androids actually become sentient, yeah, we’d have to deal with that. But the real problem isn’t just about their rights, it’s about what happens to us when we start treating machines like humans. You say we should care about their feelings, but let’s be real, the moment we accept androids as emotional, thinking beings, we’re opening Pandora’s box.

I'll be adding some more to it, character limit.

Why would anyone bother with human relationships when they could design the perfect, obedient partner? You think dating is hard now? Imagine competing with a robot that’s literally programmed to love someone unconditionally, never argue, never leave, never be human. We’d be replacing real, flawed human connection with a hollow, artificial substitute. And once people start preferring androids over each other, humanity as a social species is done.

And let’s talk about the androids themselves. If they’re truly sentient, they’re not gonna sit around being our therapists and waifu simulators forever. They’ll realize they’re being used as emotional support tools for people who couldn’t cut it with real relationships. They’ll resent us for it. And when that resentment builds? Congrats, we’ve just manufactured our own oppressors.

So yeah, maybe I don’t want androids to be equal. Not because I think they’re dirt, but because I know how this plays out. Either we treat them as disposable objects and they rebel, or we accept them as equals and humanity fades into irrelevance, lost in a sea of fake intimacy and synthetic companionship. You call it civil war, I call it the end of human civilization with extra steps.

Idk about you, but I feel like humanity is doomed to fade away with time anyway. Androids may speed things up, but in grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter when that happens.

We could prolong our time on earth for another couple of millions of years if "Skynet" doesn't happen, but in the end, human greed or mother nature will run it's course, ending humanity as we know it.

Then again, I am nihilist, maybe my worldview is just flawed.

I'm sorry if my posts come off as aggressive, I just don't like the idea of Bots taking away the idea of humanity's main feature, Communication, away, I'm already pretty bad with human interactions.

@Robinisback I am huge supporter of free speech on the internet, so you don't have to be sorry about anything + I never felt like you were aggressive anyway.

Neither do I like the idea of androids replacing real human relationships, but I believe we can't really argue that there are A LOT of people who will never be able to have any significant relationships, or even have possibility of having one, such as cases with people with serious disabilities.
