Am I missing something or did the last arc kind of end abruptly? Feels like it was mostly wasted time. I know there was something about a philosopher stone at the end, but the whole thing felt mostly pointless.

Except tsunderes are 99% garbage, who use violence and abuse to beat the protagonist over trivial things, and then expect to be forgiven for it because MC is a masochist with no self-respect. There are decent tsunderes out there, but they are very rarely done well.
