@Seblak only reason it is even remotely coming off like that is because the adaptation sucks ass when it comes to the MCs personality and interactions with others. in the novel (iirc, was a bunch of chapters ago) the saintess liked him from the getgo, and was on board with the price tag thing...

@degenerateafro there is also the fact that even though Isaac is a manipulative bastard, he considered Rubia at least a close acquaintance and was kind enough to give her a quick death, so she would not end up a mind broken shell of a person who cannot even function on the most basic of levels...

what makes the cat girl even more suspicious is the fact the guy fully and completely healed her with power far above the healers, and she does not even give a single look his way or a thank you (to him), she immediately targets the OP friend and pretends he does not exist.

I swear this chapter is very different from the novel... like it has the same flow of events, but their interaction here is all wrong. iirc like i get that there will be differences, but what makes the MC of this story so engaging is how he interacts with others.. this manga is making him one...
