@YuriIsTooLewd i dont think the goal is to scare them away, i think it's a co dependent relationship similar to the one in monogatari with Apparitions. They exist because people believe in them and have to occasionally show themselves to people in order to keep them believing.

@onionskins havent read the web novels but from what has been shown so far everyone had an acquaintance to friend level relationship with mc. glasses screwed the mc and then told everyone she went home because she felt useless

@saintnero from what we've seen yes that seems to be the case. However we don't know for sure why she dated the guy but it seems like it was either to help or hurt kaoru in some way
