@RelM I checked the raw, there is no mistranslation, but the dialogue on last page should be more like "if you are interested about this, you can ask them (that person). Surely, he/she/they will tell you about it when you are alone with him/her/them." It should be less confusing like that.

The dog owner you saw in this chapter, it's the brother-sister pairing from Fudatsuki no Kyoko-chan in Chapter 5 and 6. And their name is Makoto and Rina respectively.
