@gsimy hm the pixiv images seem to be 673x950, which is indeed quite small, but yours are 2804x3958 so something's going wrong somewhere. i'd personally upscale the originals to 1200 height with waifu2x, example https://i.imgur.com/O0m0BR8.png

why upscale the raws so much? they look very pixelated

what are you using to upscale the images? if you use waifu the results will look a fair bit better https://i.imgur.com/L7DMLGR.png
