This is what is wrong with "modern" manga. Protagonists are a reflection of the readership: socially insecure, low self-esteem, absolutely lacking in character or ambition. Look at the manga characters from the 70's to the early 90's. We have people who have friends, do sports and have things...

Those things do happen. Common misunderstanding.
