Cultures do have differences. In your culture it might be "straight forward" but in others this isn't the case and in even more, it would be frowned upon/shameful.
Sensory deprivation like what Nagisa did, can help some people organise their thoughts, but only for short sessions (around a hour). Long term (eg over 24 hours in one session or multiple 10 hours in short succession) however is not good.
