We're not getting the axe with a quick timeskip to their happy married life together, right? That's one way to get them to be more intimate with each other but it's still a bit early for this.

Sad for side-couples and the "they lived and died together" ending doesn't really gel with the rest of the manga well. Feels like either mangaka(doubtful) or editorial weren't interested in exploring the world of boobs further.
