Honestly the accidental killings stopped being shocking awhile ago and this is one of the tamer ones. A character having to live with the consequences of accidentally crippling someone would be more interesting.

Nah I think them going heavy into it is a good thing. Part of Ren's situation is he's with a 100 soul mates but they're people only HE could be soulmates with because of their specific needs. As someone with a disability there are things like this which seems maladaptive to the real world but...
