Rereading this because I love this series so much, but are there missing pages? Chapter 39 ends with Tanya going to talk to Zettour in the captial and argue against being rearguard but the talk never happens and we jump right into Tanya rousing the 203 for battle in chapter 41.

I kind of like that Child Emperor was reminded of why he became a hero in a bittersweet moment but I can't really say I like the rest. Humanizing Phoenixman is a pretty weird direction to take when Do-S was just dehumanized in the other revision, neither personality change really fits the mood...

10/10 letter is deus ex machina that forces crotchety manager to have to keep Honda even though he doesn't want to. I'm gonna say either untimely demotion/promotion and instatement of Onuki as temporary manager, or explicit message to not cut Honda.

I know the old man is just following the manual and so he has to deduct points when everything's not a perfect cog in the Kaido machine, but damn that's cold giving a demerit after that clutch out.

I actually didn't notice the jump in chapters, before, I just attributed the weird pacing to some 90's era manga style or something. Sorry to any new readers, this chapter got added way later so I'm only reading it now thanks to the hard work by Mifune Dolphins

Personally liked the other version better, humans don't get killed anymore in this manga so the deaths of the mercenaries was actually meaningful. Also in the webcomic, only later do we learn Sweet Mask's reasoning which gives retroactive leeway for his actions, the more ruthless Sweet Mask...
