Don't think it mentioned sentience, but when Kato had Onikobe check out Kuro's apartment, I think she noted that the table was a piece of ninja equipment. And I guess at this point we should expect every piece of ninja equipment could be sentient / autonomous / magic.

Thanks for the TL, Zouka! What a nice twist, should have expected no less from the author / artist. Sometimes a story where all the characters are are awful (or, at least deeply flawed) is still very enjoyable. Looking forward to see if you do anymore scanlations!

I think only a few people know Kato's history, since he started as a shirunin -- Sasama mentioned she couldn't find much on his background, someone else I think was uncertain how he became a chunin, and Kuro's a NEET. Kuro wouldn't have any opportunity to find out anything about Kato the way...
