@Liquidxlax Anko doesn't really have a great parallel in western sweets. It's more of an earthy, mellow sweetness wheras sugar is what I would describe as a sharpter/brighter sweetness. I guess a sweet potato might be close in terms of the level of sweetness? Personally I like anko a lot, but...
