    Same reason I still read NTREVENGE and Kanokari. This some good tasty trash, I know it hurts my braincells reading it, but the tingly feeling it leaves in my tongue when I eat it is addicting.

    Hold that thought, cause Maruto WOULD go there if he felt like it. So don't rule that out yet. Based on Maruto's past works, I can totally see him writing Hikari to go into a state of sorrow, and throw herself at a random dude to "forget her feelings" of Ta-kun. This is Maruto's world now...

    I think the author sees THIS as the main plot, possibly always did from the start. And everything we saw before may have just been the intro to this reveal, like how Puella Madoka Magica tried to play itself off as a cutesy magical girl show at the beginning, only to then reveal it's true...
