@ApeOrMan I can think of several other subplots and arcs in the series that are actually serious. The humor in OPM is effective because it is accompanied by dramatic scenes. Lots of use of comedic anticlimax and abrupt tonal shifts.

@T-Dizzle Boros and weren't defeated in one punch. The arcs after this one don't even follow this formula.

@boag This isn't true whatsoever. Why mention these two of all characters? Garou and especially Boros aren't really all that important. In comparison, Psykos and Bofoi are more relevant than despite having much less screentime. The Monster Association Raid arc (as well as most of the story)...

@Disrupted I don't really mind much of the added content. I liked Metal Bat having extra screentime, the added interactions between Garou and Tareo along with King and Saitama, and the S-Class Hero introductions. Being able to see Watchdog Man in action was enough of a selling point, regardless...
