That may or may not be true depending on how the different race's origins occurred in that world. Regardless, there are two races with the word Elf in it, one is "Dark Elf" and the other is "Elf", up until Masti, MC has not met someone of the race "Elf".

It's not that the MC can't rank up, the MC is choosing not to. Chapter 14, the guild gave him a B-rank for his starting rank after his first quest and MC rejected it.

This was all explained in the first chapter. The hero party is childhood friends from the same village of the MC. MC was literally tasked by "God" to support the Hero party, that's why he didn't leave until he was kicked out.

Swords creating crystals from excess mana happened before in chapter 7, so it's not a new thing. What is new is seeing the different types of crystals since Excelia was the only sword back then.
