Now that's a very interesting premise. The first undercover guy got so high on his own shit that he went on and became an Oyabun for real, and now the MPD is understandably pissed off at him and it is sending another guy to assassinate him. Not even apprehend or indirectly take him down...

The MC played the role of a scary hitman pretty damn well, but that boss dude is even scarier and he's a real one. The character dynamics here are great.

I think it's pretty obvious that the implication here is even if that is indeed Mom, she is still not the Mom Yuuma knew. For all we know it is more likely that it's either some other spirit larping as her, tricking Yuuma into giving it a body, or it is Mom but she's gotten corrupted by her time...

This arc was great. Like someone else said every single story arc in this manga can be the basis of a full length manga on its own, for example you could easily think up something like Mikane and the Sea Woman to expand this Deep One arc.

An entire village worshipping Pepe in this day and age? Also I'm completely speaking out of my ass here but "land-descent" might mean summoning a god (in this case, whatever Gerai is) so the summoner can meet the god in person.
