I had high hopes when I started reading this novel but every chapter so far has become a bit disappointing. The story seems kinda shallow? Aside from their household affairs, nothing is happening with the plot. The MC is bent on changing Ain but with food and games? We don't need several...

I kind of agree with comments that are annoyed with how dense Ibelina is. But I think we also need to consider that she went into the book thinking she just wanted to save Ale and show him care and love. Maybe she wasn't prepared for this development and cannot handle that the book is changing...

"want to play with my blade longer?" 🤣 Well he does live up to his reputation. I think he just wanted to scare her away. He's in a bad mood probably wanted to be alone and then suddenly someone interrupts his reverie. A bit extreme reaction but he is known for that after all.

It is possible to connect with a character from a book. I remember I cried buckets for Hassan in The Kite Runner because his life was pretty much full of misery. I could remember thinking if I were Hassan's brother I would love and protect him but not enough to transmigrate to another world...
