It's a bit nitpicky, but "work me like a beast of burden" isn't really common in English, I'm not even sure it's idiomatic. "Work me like a horse" would've been plenty understandable, it doesn't really need an exaggeration, the metaphor exists by itself. If an idiomatic expression were needed...
