@SoulOverCaos they have relationship meters floating above their head...and she gets visual prompts for missions...I don't think game characters breaking away from their programming is really all that weird for this story...

@SoulOverCaos I think it's been hinted that everyone in that household was acting according to the writing of the game, but since the MC reincarnated as Penelope, the characters have gained their own free will. So the Duke, her adoptive brothers, and the maid are not stereotypical villains...
