@Chrona "I've only seen that term used to refer to idiot savants in modern English." Savant just means you're good at one particular thing. Idiot savant means you're an idiot who's good at one particular thing.

@Meruem105 I've suspected for ages that Hatsumi is the seventh fang and left after he got bored after a week, just like in his backstory in KA

@AnimationDude I thought the Rihito/Falcon fight was okay and the Julius/Toa fight was great I have nothing better to do and I'm just hoping for some decent fights and Koga's development, I've written off the metaplot by this point

@JohnFuckingWick I highly expect Ohma to fight Lolong, if Lolong is secretly the "Hood". They're even placed in equivalent positions in the kengan/Purgatory group shots

@Woodchipper That was before a chinese dude ate a bat and we had to stay inside for months and I had nothing better to do. But don't shrug off every criticism of this series as bitching, you'll throw your shoulder out.

They should have at least mentioned Agito wanted to fight Yumigahama, that was the entire fucking reason that he joined the tournament. Just another example of the author not being able to keep his own plot straight, what a shambles. I would have been fine if Agito lost the right by...

@VarkAndDjelyl I think Lolong's just really smart, but yeah, he's been spot-on with every single prediction thus far. I was expecting Hikaru to be Purgatory's biggest gun but it looks like it might be Lolong

Meathead is incorrect because meathead is to do with strategy and tactics, not technique. Julius has excellent tactics, his technique is simply nonexistent. That's not a problem with the translation, Muteba simply makes a poor analysis of the situation. Characters can frequently make bad reads...

Kuroki made the correct choice; getting Rihito to completely abandon Razor's Edge would have been like when Steward tried to turn Prince Nas into a classical boxer. Some people are better off fighting in a specific natural style than just being about the fundamentals.

Medel would not make it past the first round of the KAT.

@Macgyver Equally, a street fight could be in a tight alleyway or in a crowded pub. You're actually likely to have less room to move than a ring in a real fight. But no one's denying that when Capoeira kicks are actually landed they produce tremendous force. The problem is that it isn't...

Holy shit, JonJT is right, that scene is specifically from the movie Never Back Down I didn't recognise it at first because of the angle - maybe its a production shot? But it's definitely this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI9C7RrqTtM

Capeoira isn't quite as big a meme as things like aikido and anything that purports to operate off of chi But it is fairly limited by itself. Okubo's reaction - that it's had maaaybe one or two guys using it in MMA*- is probably the best response. *(though confusingly two of them were two...

I love how Gaolang gets shaken up by Medel hitting him with a noncomittal jab... the most basic use of the jab.

@KeiosKod You don't understand, it's *literally* impossible since there had to be a point in time where there weren't multiple sanctioning bodies and whoever was champion would just be flat out undisputed

What baffles me is that they say "he was on the brink of becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in history" That's ridiculous. There have been *loads* of undisputed HW champions. There weren't even any *non* undisputed HW champions until we started getting multiple sanctioning bodies.

@Dijon Not only did you call people who did have a problem with it drama queens and children, at no point did I call you a simpleton. So don't be a hypocrite and whine when you started the name calling here. Secondly, this isn't a "wait and see" thing, because Ch 51 made it pretty fucking...
