@Mims Would you mind what specifically turned you off besides forcing two main characters? In what sense toning it down? I admit there is a switch in characters personalities in season 2, but I just thought it was more lively. We get to see their other side. We didn't get flat emotions...

Eh, I like Emiel. I don't have a problem with where the story is headed, I just can't with dumbness of the main character.

Whenever they grow up these characters become dumber and very annoying. Athanasia is probably the only character with the brain in these kind of stories.
