Yeah, I just can't see anything else being in line with this manga's tone. Chikako loves the house and what goes with it, and Momoko loves being a Maiko. All there is to it, really. I mean, I am sure if she had some bad blood with Chikako, she never would have taken on someone from Saku House as...

Ah, I think we're beginning to see what the issue was: at some point they'll be stepping on each other's toes in terms of clientele. One has to go for the other to advance further as a maiko.
