This manga adaptation of the ending is completely different from the WN. But in all honesty, the plot turns into quite a bit of deus ex machina trainwreck there too. The resolution here is actually more "reasonable" of the two, if you can call it that.

Power scaling is completely broken. Dracula (first generation vampire) required literal god-level powers to merely contain. Here, a random mob with a plot-device knife did the same against another first-generation. Author should have tried harder to make it consistent.

This is one of the reasons I'm tempted to drop this series. "Trump cards" being asspulls like some schoolyard fight. "Character strength/growth" that flips on and off like a light switch. It's hard to invest in a plot -- when the value fluctuates wildly and is internally inconsistent.
