Boi, the MC is pragmatic, not cold-hearted. One insinuates understanding of a situation and choosing the best option he can pick with current resources, the other insinuates he feels nothing about the situation.

@Ashlinsama People tend to forget he's been like this with other people before. It's just been with more appropriate targets, like the Sacred Family or the winged dude from the other dimension, where there is no chance of anyone feeling sympathy for them.
