There’s some possible problems with Translations, for example is the pancake menu remark 高い？if so, maybe it should be translated as “expensive” rather than “tall” which illustrates ichikawas discomfort in being in such a cafe (since he doesn’t have much money) and thus just orders a coffee...
It’s a bit of a slog, wth a lot of padding and not much genuine joy or humor, but the cliffhanger form of storytelling does make you want to keep reading, just to see if something relevant will happen.
