I'm always up for a pretty picture of Yuri, but it's a little startling how front and center she is in the last panel.

What made it brutal was that it took five frames, with a partial view of Manbagi's face, then her thoughts, then a partial view of her stricken face, then her trying to smile through tears, then a shot of her from behind her sitting all alone and grieving with everyone else on their feet in...

On rereading this, I think my favorite part is the Master chewing out Momo for putting Shamiko under so much stress. He really brings on the righteousness.

I'm addicted to this series.

@MidnighTea - Food addiction is a wicked spell, especially to a hungry girl like Shamiko. Except for Lilith, who is in tune with her, Shamiko has never actually interacted with demons. She doesn't completely understand that demons act like...demons. Let's see how Momo handles this seduction.

I have a feeling we're heading into the first real Momo/Shamiko conflict. I hope we're not heading into the first serious arc.

I think my favorite part is on page 12, when Shamiko has that weird attack of jealousy imagining Momo being romanced away by a chimera demon. Deep, deep layers of anxiety Momo's future father-in-law is giving her encouragement and advice, now.

This series is so charming and delightful that it's easy to ignore the suffering, trauma, and grief that runs through it. You get to caring about the characters and suddenly realize that what you're caring about is very heavy.

C'mon, Shamiko, go up to Momo and kiss her and tell her you love her. She'll smile.

Momo will smile if Shamiko kisses her.
