Same here, the framing and pacing really reminded me of it. Or maybe a common reading as i felt Nihei was quite inspired by some of Métal Hurlant/Heavy Metal comics. So far, it's been honestly really good, painted with a nice mistery and exposition that truly outsmarts a lot of the isekai genre.
