This chapter made me think he didn't actually kidnap the girl (or worse, he did and already killed her too) and she is just his gut instinct that he visualizes as a person talking to him, ala Bloody Hell.

Even this far in and already knowing it will end in merely 2 more chapters, I still can't guess what kind of ending this author would go for. There is still enough room for a Kokuhaku (Confession by Nobuyuki Fukumoto)-style plot twist right at the end.

The hotheaded investigator reminds me of David Mills, Brad Pitt's character from Se7en. Zen's partner was driven to suicide by Magase, so things have become quite personal. I can only hope Magase doesn't decide to go after his family like John Doe did...

That's a fitting ending. Hirota got his revenge by finally making Miwako feel genuine human emotion again - sadness and disappointment from being rejected by her own creation that she spent so much effort on. Subtle but massive own, and now she's doomed to have to try another "game". Can't help...

Lol Hirota is now the cool one, finally found this manga again after all these years.
