@GrimGriefer Except these are fledgling knights from the church, so they seem to be spoiled brats with no brains whatsoever. They've probably never had a real bodyguard assignment.
My friend's mom was like that. She worked third shift, and slept the entire day so she NEVER spent any time with him. However, she refused to let him leave the house to hang out with friends (he did it anyway, because it's not like she'd notice anyway). So he basically raised himself.
@wilddeath I understand their reasoning, however, they shouldn't have even offered, because that's rather insulting. It's like a parent throwing their child down the stairs and then saying "But you know I love you right?"
I love how their household is like "Yeah, we made you out to be the murderer and made you a criminal slave where your life would be hell, but we like you so come work for us again." Who the f*ck do you think you are?!
@Kampfarsch A noble lady having a scar on her face makes her ugly. That leads to her family being shamed for allowing her to appear in public. So, a queen having a scar on her face would damage the royal family's pride.
@Saiangeli No, he obviously "can" think for himself, since he realize that demi-humans probably aren't evil like he was told. The problem is that he "stops" thinking for himself, which is even worse.
@missmori Yeah, he didn't give her any time to decide. He just gave her 2 options: 1) Going back to being a slave. 2) Marry him (which is potentially worse, since she knows nothing about him other than "he seems nice")
