Tensei Oujo wa Kyou mo Hata wo Tatakioru

Annoying and/or horrible love interests jives with my broad impression of otome games (although admittedly I've mostly played ones with amusing Steam reviews...like Amnesia and its good ol' Cage Boy), so it's nice to see an otome story address that aspect of them.

Pokémon Sun and Moon - Watashi mo (Doujnshi)

@FrostedFoxes Sounds like you didn't play Sun and Moon, then, because Lillie's relationship with the MC could definitely be interpreted as having romantic undertones. (Especially because some of her reactions to things like Olivia's Z-pose were, as I recall, Kinda Gay.) This is true of the...

The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion

Raeliana pulls so many good faces that I feel almost inclined to compile them into an album to tempt other people into reading this.

Komatsubara ga Koibito ni Naritasou ni Kochira o Miteiru! - Vol. 2 Ch. 8

Hey, tsukkomi isn't taking out your anger through violence! Although anger is a common motivator, a tsukkomi is any kind of comedic retort or riposte. (It can also refer to the person in a comedy duo that does the tsukkomi-ing.) That lady at the baths ought to mind her own business. If she's...

Komatsubara ga Koibito ni Naritasou ni Kochira o Miteiru! - Vol. 2 Ch. 7

What is this, a date for preschoolers? I love it. Carry on!

The Villainess Is Adored by the Crown Prince of the Neighboring Kingdom - Vol. 1 Ch. 1

I'm not real impressed by the out-of-the-blue mid-chapter PoV switch. Giving us the prince's motivations and internal thought process on a platter like that before the heroine's even had a chance to form an impression of him...it's bothering me, but I can't quite put my finger on why.

I'm a Villainous Daughter, so I'm Going to Keep the Last Boss

@ampnaman From what I can tell, most of the medieval Europe-esque ones are apparently cribbing their settings from an otome game called Meine Liebe, in the same way that most videogame-esque isekai base themselves off of Dragon Quest and most RPG fantasy settings pull from Tolkien's stuff...

Jishou Akuyaku Reijou na Konyakusha no Kansatsu Kiroku - Vol. 2 Ch. 9

@GunDon The prince is the one foiling Bertia's plan for the heroine, so it's mostly his fault, really. As literally everybody in the story knows, he's the truly evil one here.

I'm a Villainous Daughter, so I'm Going to Keep the Last Boss

Another villainess isekai, here we go again, etc. On to business: the art is clean, the heroine's interactions with other characters are fun, and the demon king is cute. Good enough for me, let's see where this goes!

This guy's really just mugging all his classmates, huh. And shaking down kids for their lunch money isn't the part of it being played for humor. Cultivation stories are so weird.

    King's Concubine

Here's some guesses for the names: Kaaruniru = Carneil or Carnille Esupekku = Especk Eruseenuando = Elsainuand Ruuburittsu = Reubritz Idisu = Edis or Edith (haha) It's best to use the usual approximations of things like 'maou', 'makai', etc. instead of writing an explanatory footnote when...

This Girl Is a Little Wild - Vol. 1 Ch. 13

Roel and Jullius are both on the same (ditzy) wavelength. It's really nice!

Detective Conan - Vol. 97 Ch. 1027 - The Eyes of a Detective

How many times has there been a "villa in the snowy mountains" case in this series, anyway? Three? Four?

That art teacher is awesome. What a cool lady.

Detective Xeno and the Seven Locked Murder Rooms - Vol. 6 Ch. 53 - The Baron Laughs 2

@Doopington Almost certainly, since the reports of Asami's dress color all conflict with each other. It's blue when she meets Xeno, Eila and the Baron, green in Shizuka's testimony and purple in Kaoru's.

    Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!

My interpretation: his isekai cheat skill is that the god in charge of the world supplies his subconscious with real facts whenever he tries to come up with nonsense backstories and whatnot.

Fukushuu o Koinegau Saikyou Yuusha wa, Yami no Chikara de Senmetsu Musou Suru

Very nice crazy-faces, but the extreme pace (amongst other things) suggests everything besides the spectacle will be paper-thin.

Jikai no Death Game ni Gokitai Kudasai!! - Vol. 1 Ch. 8 - Cryptanalysis XXX

@Tanzanite The "tanuki" code Kawanaka used is so famous that if you're Japanese, you'd have to be too young to read or living under a rock to not know it. It's the kind of brainteaser you'd find on the back of cereal boxes, and about as easy to crack as pig latin. In Japanese, 'nuki' is a form...

Ao no Flag - Vol. 6 Ch. 40

@OniBarubary Can you elaborate a bit on what you said about Mami being gay? I may be forgetting details, but I've been reading Mami as being both non-conforming and somewhere in the grey-aromantic end of things. I'm curious to hear another perspective. Or were you just referring to Masumi?

Skip Beat! - Vol. 44 Ch. 266 - Unexpected Results - The Day Before -

I know we're tired of the misunderstanding drama and eagerly waiting for the plot to get back to Kyoko's Adventures in Acting and all...but page 22 was absolutely hilarious.
