@MangaField This is not really an issue of understanding. That detail was very much clear to me. I just didn't really like it. I liked the earlier parts of Toriko way more similar to how I liked the earlier parts of Dragon Ball more.

@MangaField Yeah, Toriko was good at making the series feel more grounded to the main idea here and there, but the over all power creep got kinda ridiculous towards the end, for me. Turned my hype for the manga down a little with how ridiculous the fights became.

The obsessiveness with male genitals in this manga is so weird. Maybe Kimura should move to another weight class considering how he's basically killing himself before every match.

@twinklecake True. Fair enough. But having the dialogue diverge so heavily from the context does seem a little irritating to me. Like, the blunt dialogue at least didn't distract from the art that much. Now the focus is pretty tilted towards the dialogue because it's so outlandish.

Okay, I take back what I wrote last chapter. These are a little too many liberties even for my taste. This feels like there's barely anything left of the original dialogue.

You know what? I'm fine with the liberties. It's not like this series could've been taken too seriously anyways. Might as well double down on that with a fund translation.

I really enjoy this turn of events! It also sets the Alaba fight in better perspective for me, seeing that there is still a lot of stuff Kumoko can struggle with if she isn't prepared enough. The Alaba fight was a bit too much keikaku doori for my taste.
