@Tcof Losers' brackets are a thing in most fighting game tournaments. When you lose once, you fall off the main bracket and enter the losers' one, and the losers' bracket usually allows one player to re-enter the main bracket at some point. I'm not really that familiar with them so I can't tell...

@Reikou It's impossible for anyone in japan to get a handgun. Civilians can only get licenses for shotguns and high-powered air-rifles for hunting purposes, and even those are rigorously controlled. Not even patrolling police officers carry guns normally.
