Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 9 Ch. 44 - The End of the Festival, and Everyone's Feelings

The manga is pretty popular in Japan, so it's up to the author really. But judging by the extras of Volume 8, we might have a mini Arc focused on Miki and her Senpai.

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 9 Ch. 43 - A Song I Want to Reach You

Shiho's role was part of the author's original plan. While her proper introduction was in Chapter 15, her first appearance was actually in the extras of Volume 2. This is the story the author wanted to write from the beginning, and I honestly doubt they "dragged" this Arc out for money, as I'm...

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 9 Ch. 43 - A Song I Want to Reach You

The extras of Volume 8 seem to indicate that the next Arc might focus on... Miki (Aki's sister) and her Senpai's relationship. I'd personally be interested in that, but I can understand if many here would be disappointed by it. This Arc started back in Volume 4, and Chapter 43 is the fourth of...

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 9 Ch. 42 - The Festival's End and the Final Wish.

Exactly. For better or worse, without Shiho this manga would have ended a long time ago, as Himari and Yori became a couple in Chapter 15.

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 9 Ch. 42 - The Festival's End and the Final Wish.

It's not like the whole conflict between them can be resolved by the end of this Arc. Even if they become friends again and start to hang out like before, Shiho loves Aki and Aki is now aware of that. I hope the author continue to develop their relationship, even if they are not the main focus...

Whisper Me a Love Song - Ch. 41 - My Feelings and The Final Challenge.

You raised valid points. It's probably a mix of everything, like AdmireVega4343 said. It makes sense that guilt was/is a major factor in explaining her course of actions regarding Kyou.

Whisper Me a Love Song - Ch. 41 - My Feelings and The Final Challenge.

I interpret Chapter 34 in a completely different way. Kyou was definitely the most important person in her life before she met Aki. Shiho was simply using defense mechanisms (as is her habit) so she wouldn't have to deal with the pain of her death. If Kyou really had been just an acquaintance to...

Whisper Me a Love Song - Ch. 41 - My Feelings and The Final Challenge.

I'd say it's been even longer than that. Shiho started to become a recurring and prominent character at the beginning of Volume 4 (Chapter 17 to be more precise), when she and Aki met again because of the audition. I consider this current Arc to begin right there.

Whisper Me a Love Song - Ch. 41 - My Feelings and The Final Challenge.

Shiho is the most important character in the story and arguably the main character as well by now.

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 8 Ch. 40 - Truth and First Love.

Shiho admitted that she still is in love with her. Now everything is in Aki's hands, because I'm pretty sure that Shiho won't contact her again otherwise. First of all, Aki needs to move on from her unrequitted love: I believe she will follow Shiho's example and tell Yori the truth about her...

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 8 Ch. 40 - Truth and First Love.

This is not an "Arc". Shiho was introduced back in Chapter 15 (or even before if we take into consideration the extras from Volume 2), and we are currently in Chapter 40. Shiho is the main plot device driving the manga forward. Everything and everyone in the story is connected to her, in one...

Whisper Me a Love Song - Vol. 8 Ch. 40 - Truth and First Love.

While that's fantastic, in my opinion it's pretty unrealistic compared to Shiho's behavior, which despite being a bit extreme at times, feels more like a real teenage character. I think people need to understand that, whether we like it or not (I certainly do), Shiho is the most important...
