@fakeirish anime makes the manga popular, which means the publisher will try to milk as much money from it as possible. The author will likely stretch the manga beyond what they planned which deteriorates it's quality. Eventually the manga loses popularity and is axed by the publisher.

@daywithoutgames completely agree with you, why make good, coherent plot and characters when you can just bait readers in with meaningless sex and violence. Dead Tube is an even more extreme version of this.
