Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal - Vol. 8 Ch. 49 - The Genius Mathematician of Syracuse

@kurosa LOL Reminds me of that old Cold War joke: After the American moon landing, the Soviet Premier told his cosmonauts that they would land on the Sun. Faced with their protestations, he retorted that they would go at night!

Snow Ridge, Sword Dance - Vol. 1 Ch. 4 - Snow Ridge 4: Beyond the Ridge

An exquisitely crafted story. Human beings straining at their bonds. One feels awed and privileged to have read it. I am truly grateful to Illuminati-Manga and Hox for bringing this out in English.

Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal - Vol. 8 Ch. 49 - The Genius Mathematician of Syracuse

@kurosa Ha ha! I haven't seen that episode, so I can't comment (yet), but is Jamie doing that test at twilight? Or is it non-solar powered? Or is this a case of deliberate camera underexposure? I should watch more MythBusters, it seems.

Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal - Vol. 8 Ch. 49 - The Genius Mathematician of Syracuse

The mangaka has simply outdone himself with the artwork in this chapter! The finesse and level of detail in the sea battle scene -- the "establishing shot" of Syracuse, the attacking ships fitted out for siege, the "claws", the action -- are at a new high-water mark. (I'm assuming he has...

    How Do We Relationship?

I'm really enjoying this series! I almost wish it was all here already, so I could binge-read it in one sitting.

How Do We Relationship? - Vol. 1 Ch. 4

Dang, this chapter was on point! The art especially was flowing like anything. What I liked the most was how it rang true, at least with regards to my personal experience of college life: Once I was in a mixed group of students drinking together, when one girl stated she was bisexual. The guys...

    My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness

A very good read. The mangaka is able to bring her inner world out on to the page in a way that is articulate and, just as importantly, engrossing.

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko

    >be me >see this manga entry >think it'll be good for a cheap laugh >flag it as "Plan to read" >months pass >get around to reading it >it's a masterpiece areyoufuckingkiddingme.jpg Seriously, can you believe it? I could have found myself a new favourite mangaka much earlier. I'm not joking...

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko - Vol. 1 Ch. 8 - Fireworks

The Last Chapter: My, that post-mortem confession. Pretty sad really. A very moving scene. It's true... Time and tide wait for no man (or woman). The Bonus Chapter: That lady artist is an etchi version of Scrooge McDuck and his money bin LOL!

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko - Vol. 1 Ch. 7 - The Last Dick

Most other storytellers would have tapped out by the third chapter, but this mangaka has somehow managed to squeeze out another well-crafted instalment.

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko - Vol. 1 Ch. 6 - Rain of Life

Outstanding! This one's full of movie references. For instance, the part where those lab guys are pouring chemicals down the drain, leading to a mutant monster, is a tribute to the 2006 Korean film The Host.

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko - Vol. 1 Ch. 5 - It Was Like When I Caught That Grasshopper (Part 2)

Wow, so you can get a very readable yarn, of good length, from what at first looks like a juvenile premise. I'm impressed.

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko - Vol. 1 Ch. 3 - Buried Relief

This chapter had a solid comedic start and ended on a genuinely heartfelt note. Who's this mangaka? He seems to be highly gifted. I must have a look at his other work.

GATE - Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri - Vol. 15 Ch. 82

@Xelda Yeah, those armoured ogres are basically canned spam at the hands of the JSDF. Canned spam. Armoured ogres. Hmm. I do believe Laius from Dungeon Meshi would find this interesting!

Sore wa Tada no Senpai no Chinko - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - And Now For That Warmth

This amazing manga just keeps on giving LOL! Suda-san had better watch out now. Incidentally, the girl mentioned a rating system of S, A, B, C, etc. with S as the top tier, presumably for "Super". This may trigger memories for players of the old game Advance Wars for the Game Boy Advance.

GATE - Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri - Vol. 15 Ch. 82

Those "poor" monsters' eyes aren't protected at all. Even a single rifleman can take care of one as long as he keeps his nerve and sees it coming. EDIT: Went back and had a second look... the exposed eyes are small targets. Scary stuff. It would take an iron nerve!
