For better or worse, the manga artist seems to be a much more action oriented story teller. Many scenes were there is battle seem to be shown in more detail or have been expanded more than what is shown in the light novel while other dialog scenes seem to be compressed into summaries or skipped...

I mean he is in a way. He is actually a Holdens priest so when the goblins were worshiping Amona he let it slide (cause ya know...), but when they switched to Haru, Roni isn't a priest of Haru so he was probably fine with them being annihilated.
