At this pace and considering there are only six chapters left, it will still be the middle of the night when the final "FIN"/"(The) End" appears in chapter 42.

Nobody but the greenest manga newbie is fooled by this into thinking that somehow MC's plot armor gets broken between the chapters.
It's just such a pathetic plot device.
Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that "civilians" who encounter the black tiger never return alive? Since some adventurers have obviously done so before.
Now, I don't remember the preamble of this battle after these months, but unless all those locations and anything in between was evacuated those statements sound contradictory.
