Macht doesn't really make sense as a character, and since he's a demon he can't really have any complex motivations. It seems like he only kills characters if they aren't very important to the story

I agree, this arc doesn't feel nearly as strong as previous arcs, but it's still pretty enjoyable because it has Denken

So Lernen and Denken are basically the same age. Lernen looks way older but Denken got significantly shorter so I guess it evens out

It feels like Himmel's personality is starting to boil down to "completely pure of heart does things exclusively for frieren" which isn't how it was at the start of the series
