Author has 100% redeemed Rin in the eyes of the readers. That's honestly the hallmark of an amazing author, to be flexible enough to work around reader reactions that quickly.

I love this manga. The premise is amazing, sure, but the real god-tier part of this manga is how little the mangaka gives a shit about what's expected of them and how they put an absurd amount of effort while flaunting how little they care about those expectations.
