It might just be my wishful thinking but I have a feeling the author might be setting up for a second manga since a pan appeared randomly in the storyline. Maybe there will be a manga about cooking? Who knows.

It was explained a little later on that he was sent to the dungeon thing. I agree that it feels like there are missing chapters but I think 1 chapter is enough to give a slightly more in depth explanation on the dungeon and why he wants to go there.
