If you don't typically use tapping to turn pages on long strip you can disable it. It's in the regular reader settings.

That would mean storing a lot of extra data all for the sake of avoiding a minor visual annoyance on a specific reading mode. Probably not happening.

I made the error handling a little overeager, I guess the reader worked for some people just barely enough that it could keep running despite a minor problem or two. I'd be interested to know which browser you're using and on which platform so I can shave off these minor errors too. Probably...
