@Jeirien The village gets stuff from outside as well, as mentioned in earlier chapters. They can't produce everything. They're relying on the barter system because reasons. Like him trading with the other 3 places (Demon kingdom, merchanty place and beastmen village), instead of just getting...

MC could've just adopted the demon kingdom's currency. His village is technically under the their rule. After all, he did recognize their authority in exchange for autonomy. Plus, almost all of his 'administrative personal' came from the kingdom.

At least, from the raws available, it doesn't look to be like the usual school crap.

People are not finding it hard to read (okay... maybe some). The whole hoo-ha stems from people making a fuss about finding Kaoru's actions contradictory to her main goal (the premise of the story), while the translator and co. are throwing a fit and focusing on the reason and motivation of her...
