the author is always ambiguous when it comes to the teacher, i wont jump easily to conclusion this time. For what we know, it maybe another red herring, like perhaps the cat abuser is so ashamed and went into hiding (after being tased and interrogated perhaps)

i think this story delivery is much more mature and deep than what most readers give credit for. The events-to-follow is pretty much confirmed, there is no need of the usual cliche schadenfreude, though i guess most of us do still love that clicheness
