Basically, this protagonist is a total retard, who just put his cat-person friend to a needless danger, accepting that idiotic bet... He seriously didn't win anything, and was in a huge risk of losing his partner (Though, as if the cat tribe girl would've gone with that asshole to anywhere...

What kind of a retard would take that bet? Oi hey, I challenge you to this duel, where only you have something to lose, and only I can win something from it, pretty good deal eh? Also, now she became and object? What the hell is going in this manga.

Certainly it makes sense how the cat tribe is almost extinct, if they are all this gullible, and give out their freedom/independence like that to a total stranger basically... But yeah, I think this is pretty terrible writing.

I've decently liked this manga so far, BUT you can't help but to think for MC being a bit naive there... As if things would end like that, since the enemies are basically mass slavering/-murdering psychopaths..

Yeah no, just lets not use the golem army in the castle. Lets use the guests who are very easily hurt/killed. Makes total sense. Also, let's not kill the obvious rotten people who treat other people (slaves) like objects. Let's use silk gloves, and non-lethal tactics, because mah morals.

This flying castle is utterly wasted on this doormat, gullible idiot protagonist. He (elf guy) has shown zero proofs to backup his story. Could be a total trap to lure in this idiot MC. Also, he had NO REASON, to accept that duel. I'm starting to think this protagonist has suffered from a brain...
