As far as I remember, yes. The whole body possession of Marco's old flame (huh huh) is not in the LN. This manga starts mostly the same, then near the whole Black demon lord it totally does it's own thing.

The original story was to be honest crap/not so good. This story is not from the original LN author....and it still crap/not so good. This manga is only like 40% or less the same as the LN. The LN was ok, the manga..well for me is terrible. Waaaay to long winded. IN the LN the whole black thing...

I do like this manga, though I don't think it's going to get 'resolved' any time soon (could ofc be totally wrong and that's ok with me too). Not that I mind. I'm into slow burn. I'm more the journey kind of person then the destination. Just like games, the moment I'm at end game I get bored.
