To add to the theory, in the flashback of when Honoka was born on chapter 16, after Sen's mom died, the Company President of Shinecules says he's come to look after Honoka and "this belt" (likely Sen's bank driver). That definitely implies that his Mom was related to heroes in some way at least.

It's a death game manga, so kinda both.

To those interested, Lady Frost actually made a cameo appearance all the way back in a flashback in chapter 13.

I think it was his Mom's belt, actually. I've got a theory that the hero Eri mentions in chapter 5 was Sen's mom, and the person she failed to save was Sen and Honoka's father.

I've been afraid of this happening ever since the start of the series.

I really liked Sen and Eri's interactions in this chapter, they have great chemistry and seem like really good friends. It makes me wonder how they got so close, and how Eri found out about Sen's identity in the first place.
