As bad as the DMCA was, Mangadex's handling of it is even worse. Personally, I think it might be time to move on. I've been going through the long procedure of transferring my Mangadex follow lists to a few other aggregators.

7 years is a good run, but... shrugs This isn't the first aggregator to die, it won't be the last. We'll be back to the days of little manga mini-aggregators for a while, but hopefully the translators keep working and uploading when a new 'default upload' site gets chosen by the community.

The idea that that little checkmark is going to protect Mangadex from potential legal issues would be almost cute if it weren't basically killing the site. Mangadex is and always has been piracy, whatever posturing the site runners want to claim. Passing the buck works for big social media sites...
